My celing is 8' so if you have a 9' or 10' ceiling you could easily add the third set of hooks. I almost made it for 3 but then the bottom of the third roll would hang too low. I could have made this to accomodate only 1 roll but thought this might give me some versatility for pennies more. Systems like Bogen/Manfrotto have very neat mechanisms to take care of this and allow you to crank the roll up and down but this is an affordable DIY that elimates all the expense or specialty hardware and now you can put your money into beautiful colored background paper. The 1/2" PVC caps on the ends of the crossbars keep them from moving side to side and I am using a large pony clamp to 'lock' the position of the paper so it does not spill out, which if you've never opened and hung a roll of paper before, it can be a big mess if you don't secure the roll in position. Obviously you need to determine if you are going into wood or sheet rock and use the appropriate screw or anchor. 30 cents each, (3) #14 x 3" woodscrews and (1) 1/4" toggle bolt assmebly for the bottom right brace which was the only one going into sheet rock and not a wooden stud. That includes a piece of scrap wood stud from Home Depot for $1.00, (4) open end eye hooks for about $4.00, (1) 10' piece of 1/2" PVC pipe for $1.60, (4) 1/2" PVC end caps for. The total cost (not including the rolls of paper) was about $10.00. I didn't document the process of construction on this because I think based on the pictures it would be easy enough to copy without a problem.
